10 DAYS MIGRATION RIVER CROSSING SAFARI

This 10-day migration safari is meant to be an absolute delight for wildlife lovers. The safari is a perfect for the wildlife lovers with a driving urge to witness the Great Migration. It is focused on the Northern part of the Serengeti, the Kogatende, where in July, the wildebeest migration moves north, passing through the Lobo area (area just north of the central Serengeti National Park) and the Wagakuria area (remote northern Serengeti National Park along the Mara River) en-route to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. The migration can arrive to the Wagakuria area anytime from July onwards and wildebeest can be seen in the area, crossing the Mara River.

In September the wildebeest herds are spread out over the northern Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. Several large herds of wildebeest remain behind in the area and sometimes weather changes can bring the herds back into the area from the Mara. In October, the herds move south towards the central Serengeti National Park via the Lobo area of the Serengeti National Park.

Brace yourself for a safari of a lifetime, drive in the finest National Park in Africa, the Serengeti and spend the nights in comfortable accommodations to make your safari experience one you have always dreamed of.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We shall then pack up and drive to Tarangire National Park after we have had breakfast.  A safari spot in the Northern Circuit of Tanzania. You will find very big herds of Elephant in this park. Big cats are also abundant. Your driver shall then pick up a nice spot along the Tarangire River for you to have lunch. After spending some valuable time game driving in the park you then shall head off driving towards Ngorongoro Highlands where you will spend the night.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Highlands to Central Serengeti

We’ll take an early breakfast, as we’ve got a big day of exploration and adventure ahead of us! We will begin the day with a drive towards the Serengeti. Along the way, we will pass through the rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to glimpse Cape buffalo, baboons, or even elephants and leopards in the dense undergrowth. Witness Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and be amazed by the sheer number of animals that roam these grassy plains. Before the sun sets we shall drive to our lodge for an overnight.

Day 4

After enjoying our breakfast at the Four Seasons Lodge we start driving towards the Kogatende region (Northern Serengeti). This long drive to Kogatende gives you an opportunity to experience and admire the sheer size of the Park. You will also drive through diverse habitats and sceneries enhancing your experience. Upon arrival at the Kogatende region, we shall go out in search of both the Wildebeest Migration and the famous Big Five.

Day 5

Full Day North Serengeti

After breakfast, we will start our game drive around the Kogatende area, searching around the kopjes looking for carnivores and the large migration groups that will be preparing to cross the Mara River into Kenya.

North Serengeti is home to large numbers of hippos and Nile crocodiles, the Mara River is the last major obstacle standing between the Wildebeest Migration and the relative safety of the Masai Mara. If you’re patient and a little lucky, you may even get to witness the death-defying crossing itself where wildebeest and zebras brave the river’s currents and crocodiles in an attempt to reach safety on the opposite bank. After spending time catching up with these spectacular natural events we drive back to our lodge for an overnight.
